Charles Kidess of amara architects is selected to represent Palestine in a project in Cervia, Italy. The project is an effort by the municipality of Cervia to allow for coordination of Palestinian and Israeli architects in the plea towards peace. Along with Mr. Kidess, Yasmine Makhoul, a landscape architect from Nazareth will represent Arab Israelis, and Mira Jacobson, a landscape architect from Givataim will represent Israel. The project aims to create "the flower bed of peace", which will be this year's focus of the annual event "May in Bloom" which turns Cervia every year into a garden city. The "flower bed of peace" will reflect the natural landscape of Palestine, where both Palestinians and Israelis will have to share and live together in harmony. Along with architects, the event will also bring about Israeli and Palestinian representatives on the political level in the inauguration ceremony and is scheduled to receive wide media attention.
